What is this integration?

Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement Online) is a network designed to enable electronic document exchange between businesses and government agencies across Europe and beyond. The Peppol network uses a standardized format for electronic invoices and other business documents, ensuring efficient and secure information exchange.

UBL (Universal Business Language) is an open standard for electronic business documents such as invoices, purchase orders, and delivery notes. UBL is designed to help businesses automate their trading processes by enabling the electronic sending and receiving of documents in a standardized format.

Why is this integration a match with Zero Friction?

  • Efficiency: Electronic document exchange reduces the need for manual processing, saving time and reducing the likelihood of errors.
  • Cost savings: Automating the invoicing process can save companies money on paper, postage, and administrative tasks.
  • Reliability and security: The Peppol network provides a secure and reliable way to send documents, with guaranteed delivery and traceability.
  • Compliance: Using Peppol/UBL helps businesses comply with legal requirements for electronic invoicing in many European countries.

How does the integration work?

Zero Friction provides an .xml export for business invoices that the customer can manually import into their PEPPOL environment.

  1. Registration: To use the Peppol network, your company must be registered with a Peppol Access Point provider. This provider acts as a gateway for sending and receiving electronic documents.
  2. Document creation: You create your invoices and other business documents in the UBL format. This can be done using your accounting software or through a service provider that can generate UBL documents.
  3. Sending: Your UBL documents are sent via your Peppol Access Point provider to the recipient, who is also registered on the Peppol network.
  4. Receipt and processing: The recipient receives the document through their Peppol Access Point and processes it automatically in their own systems.

By using Peppol and UBL, your company can benefit from a streamlined and automated invoicing and document exchange process.
